We are a group of about a dozen potters from the Minneapolis area who hold an annual sale on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday following Thanksgiving. It began in 1997 when Dianne Farber, an instructor at the Edina Art Center, invited a few potter friends to hold a pottery sale at her house. The group needed a name for promoting the sale and since Dianne's front door was purple, we chose Purple Door Potters. Dianne now lives in California, but the event that she conceived continues to live on in Minneapolis. For several years now we've held our sale in a beautiful room overlooking Lake bde maka ska at St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church.
